Hostal Cumbres del Volcán, Escalon began operations in May of 2010. The owners are a retired American from California and his Salvadorean wife. Our facility was originally a beautiful mansion. We have remodeled it gently adding bathrooms and updating as needed. The business and pleasure traveler will find us to be an outstanding choice in San Salvador that combines comfort and convenience with economical prices. We have free WiFi, cable TV and all guests have the use of our fully equipped kitchen, beautiful living-dining area with guitar and keyboard available, front terrace and gardens. Hostal Cumbres del Volcán is conveniently located in the heart of the business and cultural center of San Salvador, just 4 kilometers west of the old Centro Historico. The residence of the Mexican Ambassador is right across the street. We offer a range of comfortable accommodations for a variety of travelers-- from air conditioned private rooms with ensuite bath ($40.00), private rooms with shared bath ($20.00), and economical shared hostel dorm rooms with either bunk beds ($8.00) or single beds ($10) for the budget traveler or backpacker. For either motorcycles or cars we have secure off-street garage parking available. Motorcycle repair shops and parts are widely available in San Salvador for all makes. Prices for service are very reasonably.
