Quinta dos Perfumes

In early 50ths and 60ths, Quinta dos Perfumes was dedicated to the planting of mallows. It had a factory where mallows were distilled in order to extract the substance used in the production of perfumes. The experience turned out to be uneconomic and the project was abandoned. In the seventies, this rural area was purchased by the family that now belongs, who sought more dynamic introducing the cultivation of table vines, taking advantage of the excellent climatic conditions of the area. With the decline of the vineyard, the second generation of the family opted to convert the existing culture in a citrus orchard, one of the traditional cultures of Algarve. Today, it has developed this agro-tourism project, to share the beauty and tranquility of Quinta dos Perfumes with those who visit it.
